Official competition brief — read carefully before submitting your pitch.
The Shubho BioTech Pitch Competition invites students to submit an original idea for a biotechnology innovation they want to see exist. The concept can be anything: a device, product, treatment, or tool that addresses a real-world problem through biotechnology.
This is not just about having a cool idea. Participants are expected to research whether their idea is actually possible, explore what science already exists around it, and present a thoughtful pitch that covers both the vision and the feasibility.
The competition runs in two parts. First, participants submit their idea. From there, they research the feasibility by exploring existing studies, current technology, and scientific literature to understand how their concept could realistically be developed. Their final submission is a structured pitch that brings all of this together.
Example Innovation:
A wearable skin patch that detects dehydration in real time by monitoring biomarkers through the skin. A participant would research existing biosensor technology, hydration monitoring studies, and materials science to assess how viable this product could be and what the development pathway might look like.
This is the level of depth we are looking for. A clear idea, grounded in research, with a realistic look at how it could come to life.
This competition is open to all students with an interest in biotechnology, health sciences, bioengineering, or related STEM fields. No prior research experience is required. We are looking for curiosity, creativity, and the ability to think critically about science and innovation.
Submissions should be sent to Shubho through the official submission process. Full details on format, deadlines, and submission instructions will be shared through our platforms. Follow us on Instagram and join our Discord for updates.
